It Boosts your Emotional Health

All exercise has been proven to help get rid of negative emotions, and yoga is no exception. In fact, yoga stimulates the production of oxytocin in the body.

Being able to practice mindfulness and meditation through yoga also results in higher serotonin levels, which makes people feel relaxed, calm, and overall have better moods after just one session.

It can help nurse a bad hangover

After a night out with your friends and drinking heavily, yoga may not be the first thing to enter your mind especially if you’re trying to nurse a bad hang over.

But, you would be surprised that it’s actually a good way to detox your entire system. Yoga helps with your metabolism. The shoulder stand pose works on the thyroid gland, which improves the metabolism, thus getting rid of the hangover quickly.

It helps with insomnia

Yoga has been proven to be very effective cure to insomnia. When you are trying to get a good night’s rest, it’s best to be relaxed and lying on your back with your feet up on the wall. This will help with the circulation in your body as well as bring a calming effect to your mind.

It helps boost your memory

Mental stress can bring harm to your body, especially if you do not know how to harness the negative energy properly.  By being able to reduce the physical tension in your body, it will be easier for you to organize your thoughts. It helps improve your flexibility

Improved flexibility is the most obvious benefit you can gain from yoga. It may take some time for you to adjust to the stretches, but after consistent exercise you will gradually start to notice the improvement in your muscles.  Eventually, seemingly impossible poses will become easier for you to pull off.  You’ll also start to notice that the pain in your body may start to disappear. Having tight hips can strain the alignment of your thigh and shinbones. Having tight hamstrings can lead to flattening of the lumbar spine, which causes back pain.

Helps boost the heart rate

When you regularly get your heart rate at a decent range, you lower your risk of a heart attack. In doing so, you can also avoid the possibility of depression. While not all yoga poses are aerobic, if you do it regularly or take Ashtanga classes, it can help boost your heart rate into the aerobic range. But even if you perform yoga exercises that do not get your heart rate up that high, you can still improve your cardiovascular health through conditioning.
